Here’s how it goes…
Men.com wants you to join us to build a complete online Democratic Society for Men. We seek volunteers who are qualified representative authorities and rabid enthusiasts in particular content categories. Given the necessary tools and infrastructure on Men.com, these chosen few will be empowered with the opportunity to create compelling, dynamic and engrossing communities. The site’s content management system will make it easy for individuals to publish editorial, post surveys, run polls, upload pictures, request feedback, etc. Basically, we provide the tools and the site to let you loose upon the world! Are you man enough for the challenge? Only the best will get the opportunity to represent!
We seek 12 Senators to oversee specific content channels and 44 Congressmen to represent certain categories on the Men.com site. Also, Men.com is always looking for individuals who would like to contribute on a regular basis either on a blog or article format. The Executive Branch made up of Phil, Dave and Joe will rule the land and maintain civility. The following documents will provide a more thorough overview of the 1)fundamental vision; 2) proposed congressional and senatorial seats and; 3) the responsibilities set forth in the organizational structure. Prove to us that you are capable of such a feat and we'll give you the power!
While we want to establish a basic theme, editorial strategy and organizational structure, it is our intent to allow the ‘ideas’ and site to grow organically, letting the community have a level of self-determination within its civil society. The communities will be operating in a democratic form as well as the overall site structure. Each Congressman and Senator will have a power ranking based upon their visitor approval rating and traffic ranking.
The Senate & Congressman positions are one-year terms. Elections will be held annually with online campaigns for each position. Make sure to represent your constituency, build your audience and deliver to satisfaction and the job will surely be yours for another year. You never know who may be your political opponent, since other members as well as newcomers can compete for a position. May the best man win!
Since this is a democratic society by the people and for the people, it is only right to allow all the people to see the forming of the Men.com Nation in the best American fashion – an online version of reality TV. All congressional discussions, arguments, votes, campaigns and strategy discussions will be available for viewing by the public. Think of it as a plexiglass board room. This may be the proverbial poker phrase ‘playing with an open hand’. However, it is also a unique opportunity for people to see into how Internet strategy is developed, discussed, honed and implemented. The public will also have the unalienable right to write their congressman, vote on approval ratings and take straw polls. Sound like fun? With power comes great responsibility, especially in a democratic society!
